RIDE THE WAVE SS16
DESIGNED AND CREATED BY
Photographs by: Linda Costa Cheranichit
This collection has been my baby for while, I'm so glad to finally share my art with you. Ride The Wave was inspired by the Surf, or rather the "salt-life" if you will. Although I'm not a surfer myself, I have always been intrigued by water sports and the freedom it breeds in those who partake. The ocean itself holds an important place in my heart as it's always been an escape, my place of; calm, serenity, and healing.
Ride The Wave is edgy and avant-garde, its for the bold and empowered woman who dares to be different. The woman who understands that she is ART, because this is art, created to adorn the body. My models represent an array of shades, sizes, heights, and types of women. This is in celebration of the queen, goddess, warrior, ingrained in the genes of every woman.
My wish for you is to experience the freedom of the surf in every clean line and fine detail found in the structure of my garments. I want it to take you on a journey to a private Island in a different dimension, where the waves will wash away the old and restore the new, as peace is found underneath the palm trees. The silhouette and shapes emphasize the inspiration found in a wetsuit with a futuristic twist. All jewelry and accessories where created by me too. I've always been fascinated with using unconventional materials and design concepts. The collection is composed of a lightweight neoprene, hand dyed mesh, and a "liquid" lycra for the water effect.
I was blessed with an opportunity to collaborate with the talented Linda Costa www.lindacostaphotography.com who showed her remarkable collection at the Neon Dreams Art show hosted by The Sharpie Art Gallery on Treasure Island. Together we created magic, emphasizing the power of light.
Please enjoy! Also, be sure to check out Linda's new blog post for more pictures and the perspective of the artist making magic on the other side of the lens.
